She's carrying the Creole legacy forward, fusing Zydeco, Soul, and Blues into a sound that's truly one of a kind. She's the force behind Marcella & Her Lovers, a fusion of classic Memphis soul and with the swagger of New Orleans funk, featuring a stellar cast of Memphis musicians.

Simien’s first full-length debut “Got You Found” with Marcella & Her Lovers, received critical acclaim. Paste magazine called Simien a, “powerhouse voice” that “lends itself to the group’s swampy soul sound.” In 2021, they dropped "Live From Memphis," capturing the band's electric performance in the heart of Memphis in 2020. Fast forward to 2023, and Marcella has dropped her latest solo single, "SOUND". Marcella is currently in the studio working on her debut release as a solo artist.
